Menu Consumption connects restaurant activity to inventory usage. Use it when selling or using a product should reduce one or more inventory items. Consumption trigger modal

When to Use Menu Consumption

Use consumption triggers when:
  • A menu product uses an inventory item.
  • A modifier uses an inventory item.
  • One inventory item should consume another item.
Example: a pizza product can consume dough, cheese, sauce, and packaging items.

Add a Trigger from Inventory

  1. Open Inventory.
  2. Go to Items.
  3. Open the item settings page.
  4. Scroll to Consumption Triggers.
  5. Click Create Trigger.
Create trigger action
  1. Choose the trigger type.
  2. Select the connected product, modifier, or inventory item.
  3. Enter the usage amount.
  4. Click Create.

Usage Units

Usage is entered in the inventory item’s ingredient unit. If the item is stored in bags but used in grams, enter the grams used by that product or modifier.
