Use this page for Sunmi external kitchen or receipt printers that connect over Ethernet/LAN or Wi-Fi.

Configure From A PC

  1. Connect the printer to power and load paper.
  2. Connect Ethernet from the printer to the router, switch, or directly to the PC.
  3. Print a self-test or network report and note the current IP address.
  4. Open the Sunmi cloud printer utility or printer web config if available.
  5. Select the printer by serial number, MAC address, or IP address.
  6. Configure Ethernet TCP/IP settings or Wi-Fi SSID/password.
  7. Save settings and restart the printer.
  8. Print a new network report and confirm the final IP address.
Some Sunmi cloud printer utilities include Wi-Fi configuration and a Print Test Page action. Use that test before adding the printer to Plato. Common Sunmi thermal printer flow:
  1. Turn the printer off.
  2. Hold Feed.
  3. Turn the printer on while holding Feed.
  4. Release Feed when the self-test page starts.
If the model has a separate back or network button, follow the model’s printed guide or utility instructions.

Reset Network Settings

Reset paths differ by Sunmi model. Use this order:
  1. Try the Sunmi utility reset or network initialization option first.
  2. If the printer has a printed hardware reset flow, follow that model flow.
  3. Restart the printer.
  4. Configure Ethernet or Wi-Fi again.
  5. Print the network report and update Plato.

  2. Set Connection Config to Network.
