Before You Start
Prepare:- Printer brand and model.
- Printer location, such as cashier, kitchen, bar, drinks, or prep.
- Printer job, such as receipts, kitchen tickets, void tickets, reports, or cash drawer.
- Connection type: Ethernet/LAN or Wi-Fi.
- Printer IP address.
- Printer port, usually
9100. - Paper size, usually
80mmor58mm. - Categories and order types that should print there.
Add The Printer In Plato
- Open
Restaurant>Settings>Device Management. - Click
Add Device. - Choose
Printer. - Name the printer based on its physical job, such as
Main Receipt,Kitchen Hot, orBar Printer. - Save the device.
Configure The Connection
- Open the printer device.
- Go to
Connection Config. - Choose
Network. - Enter the printer IP address.
- Enter the printer port.
- Save the printer.
Network printers because Plato sends print jobs to the printer IP address.
If Plato cannot reach the printer, confirm the POS device and printer are on the same local network and that the printer IP address did not change.
Configure Outputs
OpenTemplate and choose what this printer should print.

Also review paper size, receipt logo, logo size, header, footer, QR code, bottom spacing, beep, cash drawer, and cut paper settings.
Connect The Printer To POS
- Open the POS device that should use this printer.
- Go to
Config. - Open
Connected Devices. - Add the printer.
- Save the POS device.
Test Before Service
After saving:- Print a test receipt.
- Create a small test order.
- Check that kitchen and bar tickets route to the right printer.
- Reprint a receipt if needed.
- Print a report if this printer handles reports.
- Test the cash drawer if connected.
