Common Thermal Printer Self-Test
Many receipt printers use this flow:- Load paper.
- Close the printer cover.
- Turn the printer off.
- Hold
Feed. - Turn the printer on while holding
Feed. - Release
Feedwhen printing starts. - If the printer pauses after the first status print, press
Feedbriefly to continue.
Epson Feed Button Menu
Many Epson TM models use a printed menu after self-test:- Run the self-test.
- Hold
Feedfor at least one second when the menu asks for mode selection. - Press
Feedbriefly the number of times shown for the target mode. - Hold
Feedfor at least one second to select that mode. - Follow the printed instructions.
Epson Status Sheet Button
Many Epson network models, especially TM-m30 family printers, have a status sheet button near the interface ports. To print network settings:- Turn the printer on.
- Confirm paper is loaded and the cover is closed.
- Remove the bottom or connector cover if needed.
- Hold the status sheet button for at least three seconds.
- Read the printed IP address, MAC address, and network status.
Reset Rules
Reset only when:- The printer IP address is unknown.
- The printer is locked to the wrong network.
- The printer web config password is unknown.
- Support asks for a reset.
After Any Reset
- Restart the printer.
- Print a new self-test or network status page.
- Configure Ethernet or Wi-Fi again from PC if needed.
- Reserve the new IP address on the router.
- Update the IP address in Plato.
- Test receipt and kitchen ticket printing.
