Ethernet Checks
- Confirm the Ethernet cable is firmly connected to the printer.
- Confirm the other end is connected to the router or switch.
- Check the LAN lights on the printer, router, or switch.
- Try another Ethernet cable if available.
- Confirm the POS device and printer are on the same local network.
- Print a status page and confirm the IP address in Plato matches the printer.
Wi-Fi Checks
- Confirm the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the POS device.
- Confirm the Wi-Fi signal is strong where the printer is placed.
- Confirm the Wi-Fi name and password were not changed.
- Restart the printer after router or Wi-Fi changes.
- Move the printer closer to the router if it prints sometimes and fails sometimes.
- Print a status page and confirm the IP address in Plato matches the printer.
IP Address Changed
If the printer IP changed:- Print the printer status page.
- Update the IP address in Plato.
- Reserve the printer IP address on the router if possible.
- Test a receipt and a kitchen ticket.
Direct PC Recovery
If the printer is not visible on the network:- Connect the printer directly to a PC by Ethernet.
- Put the PC Ethernet adapter on the same subnet as the printer.
- Use browser config or the vendor utility to set the correct network settings.
- Move the printer back to the router or switch.
- Print a new status page.
