# Publish And Test A Promo Code

> Check the customer experience before the offer goes live.

Before customers use a promo code, test it like a customer would.

## Test The Code

Create a test order and apply the code.

Check:

1. The code is accepted.
2. The discount amount is correct.
3. The order total looks right.
4. Staff can explain the offer if a customer asks.

## Publish The Code

After testing, change the status to published.

Tell the team the exact code, offer, and start date so everyone gives customers the same answer.

## End Or Replace A Campaign

When the campaign is finished, switch the code out of published status.

Create a new code for the next offer instead of editing an old one in a way that could confuse reports.
