# Create A Promo Code

> Add the code, discount, and status.

Create a promo code when customers or staff need to apply a discount during checkout.

## Open The Form

From Promo Codes, click `New Promo Code`.

## Add The Details

Fill in:

1. Discount code.
2. Description.
3. Discount type.
4. Discount amount.
5. Status.

Choose a code that is easy to type and read, such as `LUNCH20` or `RAMADAN10`.

## Save As Draft First

Keep the code as draft while preparing the campaign.

Publish only after the amount and checkout behavior have been tested.
