# Power, Paper, And Cover

> Check printer power, paper, cover, error lights, and basic hardware state.

Use this when the printer does not respond, shows an error light, feeds incorrectly, or does not print a self-test.

## Power

1. Confirm the printer is connected to power.
2. Confirm the power adapter is firmly connected to the printer and wall socket.
3. Confirm the power light is on.
4. Try another wall socket if the printer does not turn on.
5. Turn the printer off for 10 seconds, then turn it back on.
6. Do not rapidly turn the printer on and off many times.

## Paper

1. Confirm there is paper inside the printer.
2. Confirm the roll is installed in the correct direction.
3. For thermal printers, confirm the thermal side faces the print head.
4. Try a new paper roll.
5. Confirm the paper size matches the printer setting in Plato, such as `80mm` or `58mm`.

## Cover And Jam

1. Confirm the printer cover is fully closed.
2. Remove jammed paper.
3. Remove small paper pieces near the cutter.
4. Close the cover again until it clicks.

## Error Lights

Check `Power`, `Error`, `Paper`, and `Network` or `LAN` lights if available.

If an error light is on or blinking, check:

1. Open cover.
2. Missing paper.
3. Wrong paper direction.
4. Paper jam.
5. Printer overheating.
6. Disconnected Ethernet cable.

Take a clear photo of the lights if support needs to review the issue.
