# Epson TM-T20II

> Configure an Epson TM-T20II network printer for Plato.

Use this page for TM-T20II units with an Ethernet interface. USB-only TM-T20II units cannot be added to Plato as network printers unless a PC printer bridge is used.

## Supported Connections

| Connection | Plato setting |
| --------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------- |
| Ethernet/LAN model or Ethernet interface card | `Network` |
| USB-only model | Use a local driver or bridge, not direct network printing |

## Configure From A PC

Use EpsonNet Config for Ethernet models.

1. Connect the printer to the same router or switch as the PC.
2. Install EpsonNet Config from Epson support.
3. Open EpsonNet Config.
4. Refresh the printer list.
5. Select the TM-T20II by model, MAC address, or current IP.
6. Open network/TCP/IP settings.
7. Set DHCP or manual IP according to the site network plan.
8. Save settings to the printer.
9. Restart the printer if prompted.
10. Print a self-test or network status page and confirm the final IP.

If the printer is not discovered, connect the printer directly to the PC by Ethernet and put the PC Ethernet adapter on the same subnet as the printer IP shown on the status page.

## Print Self-Test

1. Load paper and close the cover.
2. Turn the printer off.
3. Hold `Feed`.
4. Turn the printer on while holding `Feed`.
5. Release `Feed` when printing starts.
6. Press `Feed` briefly if the printer asks to continue the self-test.

## Print Network Status

If the printer uses an Epson network interface card, use the status/push button on the interface card:

1. Turn the printer on and load paper.
2. Hold the interface card push button for at least three seconds.
3. Read the printed IP address, MAC address, and network settings.

## Reset Network Interface

Reset only when the IP is unknown or the printer is locked to the wrong network.

For Epson network interface cards such as UB-E04:

1. Turn the printer off.
2. Hold the interface card push button.
3. Turn the printer on while continuing to hold the button.
4. Keep holding until the initialization start message prints, about 10 seconds.
5. Release the button and wait for the interface to restart.
6. Print a new status page.
7. Configure the printer again with EpsonNet Config.

## Configure In Plato

1. Add a `Printer` device.
2. Set `Connection Config` to `Network`.
3. Enter the printed IP address.
4. Enter the printed port, usually `9100`.
5. Configure the printer template.
6. Connect the printer to the correct POS.
