# Printers

> Configure restaurant printers, connect them to Plato, and troubleshoot common printing issues.

Use this section for receipt, kitchen, bar, void ticket, report, and cash drawer printers connected to Plato.

Plato supports Ethernet/LAN and Wi-Fi network printer setup for the starter printer families below when the model has an IP address and supports ESC/POS or raw TCP printing.

## What Plato Needs

For network printers, Plato needs:

1. A printer device record.
2. The printer IP address.
3. The printer port, usually `9100`.
4. The correct printer output settings.
5. A POS device connected to that printer.
6. Category and order type routing when the printer handles kitchen or bar tickets.
