# Workspace Access

> Control where an inventory item is available when branch-level access is enabled.

Workspace Access controls which workspaces or branches can use an inventory item.

This is useful when one item should be available only in specific locations.

## When to Use Workspace Access

Use Workspace Access when:

* Different branches carry different inventory items.
* A supplier item should be limited to one location.
* A prepared item is only produced in selected branches.
* You want reports and stock actions to stay location-specific.

## Update Access

1. Open `Inventory`.
2. Go to `Items`.
3. Open the item settings page.
4. Find `Workspace Access`.
5. Open the access settings.
6. Select the workspaces that should use the item.
7. Save the change.

## Before Changing Access

Check whether the item is already used in purchasing, counts, production, adjustments, formulas, or product consumption.

Removing access can affect which staff can see or select that item in day-to-day workflows.
