# Units

> Create and manage shared units used across Plato apps.

Use Units when your workspace needs consistent measurement names, such as sizes, quantities, or packaging units.

## Create A Unit

1. Open `System Units`.
2. Click `Create Unit`.
3. Enter the unit name.
4. Add an optional description.
5. Click `Create`.

Use the three-dot menu beside a unit to edit or delete it later.

## Keep Units Clear

Use short names your team can recognize quickly.

Avoid duplicates with slightly different spelling, because that makes reports and product setup harder to keep clean.
